Investors In People Gold!
We’re proud to share that Tyler Packaging has officially been awarded the Gold Investors in People accreditation.
This is a fantastic milestone for us as a business, and even more so as a team. It recognises the way we lead, support and develop our people, and the culture we’ve built together, one that prioritises trust and wellbeing. In this month’s blog, we are going to talk all about this accreditation, what it is and how we were able to achieve gold!
What is Investors in People?
Investors in People is a globally recognised framework that helps organisations evaluate how well they lead and support their people. It looks at areas like leadership, values, communication, learning, recognition, performance and workplace culture.
To achieve Gold level, we must meet all nine performance indicators at an advanced level and we’re proud to say we’ve done just that!
What This Means to Us
Over the past few years, we’ve made a conscious effort to shape Tyler into a place where people feel heard, supported and empowered to do great work. This accreditation is not just about hitting targets, it’s about how our people experience work every day.
The Gold award is a reflection of how far we’ve come, the kind of culture we’ve created together, and the direction we’re heading in.
A special thank you goes to Adam Kay and Mark Proffitt for their continued support and belief in this framework, and for helping to build a workplace that puts trust and autonomy at the centre of everything we do.
How We Got Here
Achieving Gold has been the result of thoughtful, sustained work across the business to strengthen how we develop and engage our people. We’ve focused on building strong leadership, embedding our values, and creating a culture where growth, recognition and open communication are part of everyday working life.
One-to-one conversations and regular development reviews give people clarity and direction in their roles. Team members said these touchpoints are motivating and provide meaningful guidance that supports personal and professional progress. Managers were consistently described as approachable, honest and supportive, with 100% of our team saying they trust our leadership.
We’ve also made sure our values are lived, not just stated. They guide how we treat each other, how we work with customers, and how we respond to challenges. Stories shared during the assessment reflected this with teamwork, integrity and communication all showing up in daily interactions.
Mental health and wellbeing have become a clear priority. With Mental Health First Aiders, wellbeing initiatives and a more flexible approach to working, we’ve created an environment where people feel heard and encouraged to speak openly when they need support.
Recognition has evolved too. From informal shout-outs to new reward schemes, we’ve introduced more consistent ways to celebrate contribution. As one team member put it, “We’re thanked every day. That consistency makes a difference.”
Learning and development continues to be a real strength. Our people have access to a wide range of training, mentoring and opportunities to grow and the feedback shows that they feel trusted, empowered and backed to succeed.
A Huge Thank You
Thank you to everyone at Tyler for your part in this. Whether you took part in the survey, gave feedback in interviews or simply show up each day with energy and care, this award is yours.
One of the quotes shared in our report said, “It’s great to be part of something where people care about the work, and about each other.” We couldn’t agree more!
We’re proud of what we’ve built together and even more excited about what comes next.
