Tis the Season!

December is the time for joy as Christmas comes to town!  Once again, it has been a busy month at Tyler, filled with festive activities, the conclusion of our team-building efforts, and a flurry of work to wrap up before the new year begins.  For our final blog of 2024, we’re excited to take you on a whistle-stop tour of our December highlights, featuring all the fun Christmas activities that made the month so special. Enjoy!

The most anticipated event of the year—our work Christmas party—was a resounding success! Sam and Levi outdid themselves by organising an unforgettable evening.  During the day, we gathered in the office and enjoyed a delicious chili con carne with all the trimmings, lovingly prepared by Holli and Levi.  Holli also took the opportunity to announce the winners of the team-building competition (see last month’s blog)—a fitting end to months of collaboration and fun.

Later that evening, we headed to the Micro Pug in Leamington Spa at 6:30 p.m., an excellent choice of venue.  The night kicked off with a tasty buffet featuring crowd-pleasers such as gourmet chicken nuggets and mini sliders, accompanied, of course, by some festive drinks. Adding a special touch to the evening, we were treated to live music by Dan, a local musician, who serenaded us with a fantastic repertoire of guitar tunes.  The party also included novelty awards, thoughtfully organised by Sam and Levi, which were accepted with plenty of laughs.  We danced, mingled, and celebrated late into the night, toasting another fantastic year at Tyler Packaging.

Throughout November and December, we collected food donations for the Fosse Food Bank. This incredible organisation supports individuals and families in crisis by providing three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support.  We were proud to deliver several bags and boxes of food in mid-December, and we hope our contributions have helped brighten the festive period for many in our community.

Our final festive activity of the year was the Tyler Festive Lunch.  The morning began with a fantastic quiz hosted by Jo, who crafted a mix of challenging and light-hearted festive questions. After four rounds of trivia, Lucy emerged victorious.  There was also a bonus question, and Rachael’s correct answer won her some mistletoe and wine (which, incidentally, was the answer to the question!).

We then made our way to one of our local pubs, The White Lion, for a delicious holiday meal. Before the starters were served, Jo and Sam were announced as Employees of the Month—a well-deserved recognition for their hard work and dedication.  Following the starters, Mark delivered Adam’s annual speech in his absence, reflecting on 2024’s achievements and setting the stage for an exciting 2025.

After enjoying our mains, we exchanged Secret Santa presents.  There was no shortage of creative and thoughtful gifts, bringing smiles all around.  We rounded off the meal with dessert before heading back to the office to wrap up the day’s work.

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on what a busy and rewarding year 2024 has been. December, with all its festive cheer, has been the perfect way to end on a high note.  From all of us at Tyler Packaging, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2025.
